I first found this island more than twenty years ago.
I chose it deliberately not to build a resort, but to step away from the world as it was becoming.
Beyond the horizon, life was accelerating. It was sophisticated, competitive, political, and often harsh. I wanted a place where time slowed down, where nature spoke louder than noise, and where life could be lived with intention rather than pressure. This island became my refuge a place where, for a moment, I could pretend that the outside world did not exist.
Long before this island became home, the full moon had already been part of my life.
In Siem Reap, moonlight once fell gently upon ancient temples, casting quiet grace on sacred stone. Along the Mekong River, its reflection drifted across moving water, turning nights into something calm and timeless. Later, the same moon rose from the east above the mainland, crossed the sea, and appeared again over Koh Ampil Island.
It felt less like coincidence and more like continuity — as if the moon had followed the journey, or perhaps I had followed it.
When this island revealed itself, the name came naturally.
FULLMOON — not as a symbol, but as recognition.
What began as a personal escape quietly grew into something more meaningful. Full Moon Private Island became a place for family, close friends, and for those who somehow found their way here — people who shared the same longing for simplicity, peace, and human connection. It was never meant to be discovered by everyone, only by those who understood it.
We did not set out to create luxury in the conventional sense. Instead, we focused on space, silence, nature, and privacy. Luxury here is waking to the sea, walking barefoot on soft sand, cycling slowly along island paths and remembering the joy of learning to ride a bicycle for the first time. It is sharing meals under the moon and rediscovering beauty in simple, unguarded moments.
Luxury here is also awareness​ understanding that you are not the centre of nature, but its quiet protector. The waters surrounding the island form a small, carefully preserved marine sanctuary shaped by respect rather than domination.
Above all, luxury here is the feeling of safety a rare sense of calm and belonging, free from the weight, noise, and urgency of the outside world.
This island is not simply a destination.
It is home.
My wife, our children, and the people who helped us build this place live and belong here. We personally drew the master plan, walked the land, and supervised every building, every path, and every structure.
Paths were imagined and named like Sunset Boulevard following the movement of the sun and the natural rhythm of the island.
Villas were named after planets of the solar system and authentic Cambodian flowers, grounding the island both in the universe above and the land beneath our feet. Natural materials were selected, transported across the sea by small boats, and carried by hand. Every curve, corner, and surface holds the quiet memory of human effort, patience, and care.
In this quiet corner of Cambodia, the full moon rises over the sea, reflects upon the water, and bathes the island in silver light.
